Ailyn Pérez will step into the role of Countess Almaviva in Laurent Pelly’s beloved staging of Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, July 31-August 22 at Santa Fe Opera. It’s a role that has brought her considerable acclaim; of her performances at The Metropolitan Opera, Operawire remarked that she was “undeniably the vocal gem of the night.” Ms. Pérez has also sung the role at the Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival, Houston Grand Opera, and Staatsoper Hamburg.

Ms. Pérez joins an exceptional cast of Mozarteans, led by Harry Bicket. Florian Sempey sings Count Almaviva, with Riccardo Fassi as Figaro, Liv Redpath as Susanna, Hongni Wu as Cherubino, Maurizio Muraro as Don Bartolo, Lucy Schaufer as Marcellina, and Steven Cole as Don Basilio.
