On August 14, Ailyn Pérez makes her Saratoga Performing Arts Center debut, bringing her singular artistry to Verdi’s powerful Requiem. She joins conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin and The Philadelphia Orchestra, appearing alongside fellow soloists Sasha Cooke, Matthew Polenzani, and Alfred Walker, with Albany Pro Musica acting as chorus.

Pérez’s interpretation of Verdi’s beloved score has been widely lauded. Of her performances at The Metropolitan Opera, the New York Times said, “She relished the text, treating it as urgent revelation; her voice vibrated with passion while being utterly controlled. Simultaneously larger than life and deeply human, she captured what opera can be, bringing us all back to the art form we adore,” with Seen and Heard International remarking that she “floated some astounding high notes, and the concluding ‘Libera me’ was electrifying.”
