On September 10 and 12, Ailyn Pérez returns to the title role in Puccini’s thrilling Tosca, performed in concert with the National Arts Centre Orchestra. It’s a role Pérez has sung at some of the world’s greatest houses, including San Francisco Opera, Staatsoper Hamburg, and Staatsoper Berlin. Of her debut performance, the San Francisco Chronicle Datebook raved, “Soprano Ailyn Pérez, in voice and bearing, was the very embodiment of the title role.”
Pérez joins an outstanding cast, directed by Joel Ivey and conducted by Alexander Shelley. Tenor Matthew Cairns sings Mario Cavaradossi, with Nathan Berg as Baron Scarpia, Danlie Rae Acebuque as Angelotti/Jailer, and George Theodorakopoulos as the Sacristan.
