Ailyn Pérez starts the new year with her highly anticipated debut as Blanche de la Force in Poulenc’s devasting tragedy, Dialogues des Carmélites, at the Metropolitan Opera. In this legendary production, director John Dexter and designer David Reppa brilliantly captured the stark drama of Poulenc’s only full-length opera, which tells the story of a group of nuns caught in the turmoil of the French Revolution.

Performance dates include January 15, 18, 21, 25, & 28. Ms. Pérez is joined by a remarkable cast, including Christine Goerke as Madame Lidoine, Sabine Devieilhe in her Met debut as Sister Constance, Jamie Barton as Mère Marie, Alice Coote in her role debut as Madame de Croissy, Piotr Buszewski as Chevalier de la Force, and Laurent Naouri as Marquis de la Force. Bertrand de Billy conducts the Metropolitan Opera Chorus and Orchestra.

Tune in to the Met Opera’s Saturday Matinee Broadcast of Dialogues des Carmélites on January 28 at 1pm EST and their Free Live Audio Streams on Wednesday, January 18 at 7:25pm EST.
