The Royal Opera’s La traviata, starring American soprano Ailyn Pérez, will be live streamed for free worldwide on May 20 as part of BP Big Screens 2014. The event will be the first live stream of a complete opera from The Royal Opera, and in addition to being streamed online, La traviata will also be streamed in public squares and parks around the UK. This special event, which will also feature British baritone Simon Keenlyside and will be conducted by Wynne Griffiths, caps a four performance run which begins May 6. Tickets for all four performances can still be purchased online at the Royal Opera House’s website.
