Ailyn Pérez performs as the soprano soloist in Verdi’s Requiem on April 23, 24, and 26 at the Sala Santa Cecilia, joined by the Orchestra e Coro dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia under the baton of Myung-Whun Chung.
Pérez last sang this glorious masterpiece in 2025 at Symphony Hall with the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra under conductor Benjamin Zander. Her interpretation was described by The New York Times as an “urgent revelation,” with her voice vibrating with passion while remaining completely controlled—a performance the publication called “simultaneously larger than life and deeply human.”
She is joined by mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Semenchuk, tenor René Barbera, and bass Roberto Tagliavini.
