Ailyn Pérez returns to the Bayerische Staatsoper on April 6-12, bringing her “sincere and moving” (San Francisco Classical Voice) portrayal of Puccini’s Tosca to Munich. Floria Tosca has become a signature for Pérez, who has been described as “the very embodiment of the title role” (San Francisco Chronicle). She has sung the fiery diva on some of the world’s greatest stages, including Hungarian National Opera, Royal Ballet and Opera, Staatsoper Berlin, Staatsoper Hamburg, the National Arts Centre Ottawa, Fondazione Petruzzelli, and San Francisco Opera.
Pérez joins a fantastic cast in Kornél Mundruczó’s film-inspired production, led by conductor Marco Armiliato. Najmiddin Mavlyanov sings Mario Cavaradossi, with Ludovic Tézier as Baron Scarpia, Roman Chabaranok as Cesare Angelotti, Martin Snell as Il Sagrestano, Tansel Akzeybek as Spoletta, and Christian Rieger as Sciarrone.
