Ailyn Pérez makes her highly anticipated return to Japan as the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival on August 21, 24, & 27. In 2010, Ms. Pérez made her debut with the Royal Opera House on tour in Japan, stepping in for a colleague as Violetta in La Traviata. Ms. Pérez received a standing ovation from the audience and rave reviews for her “unalloyed triumph” (The Guardian) of a performance.
Nodoka Okisawa conducts a star-studded cast, including Samuel Dale Johnson as Il Conte Almaviva, Ying Fang as Susanna, Philippe Sly as Figaro, Angela Brower as Cherubino, Susanne Mentzer as Marcellina, Patrick Carfizzi as Bartolo, Martin Bakari as Basilio, Shuhei Itoga as Don Curzio, Cheyanne Coss as Barbarina, and Hidekazu Machi as Antonio.
