Ailyn Pérez makes her greatly anticipated debut as Puccini’s iconic title role, Tosca, at the San Francisco Opera, marking the inauguration of the company’s 99th season. New Music Director Eun Sun Kim will conduct the San Francisco Opera Orchestra and Chorus in this revival of Shawna Lucey’s beautiful period production. Ailyn previously starred as Violetta in two different productions of Verdi’s La Traviata (2009 and 2014) at San Francisco Opera. In this production, she brings her “melting sound and affecting vulnerability” (New York Times) to one of Puccini’s greatest lyric heroines in a highly anticipated role debut.

Performances will take place on August 21, 27, 29, & September 3, 5. Ms. Pérez shares the stage with a star-studded cast, including Michael Fabiano as Cavaradossi, Alfred Walker as Scarpia, Dale Travis as the Sacristan, Joel Sorensen as Spoletta, Soloman Howard as Angelotti, current San Francisco Opera Adler Fellows Timothy Murray as Sciarrone, Stefan Egerstrom as the Jailer, and Elisa Sunshine as a Shepherd Boy.
