Role debut as Elvira in Verdi’s ‘Ernani’ at La Scala

In her first engagement of the 2018/19 season, Ailyn Pérez makes her highly anticipated role debut as Elvira in Verdi’s Ernani at Teatro alla Scala.

This new production, created by Sven-Eric Bechtolf, is a highlight of La Scala’s season, with performances on September 29 and October 2, 6, 9, 13, 18, 22 & 25. Conductor Ádám Fischer leads the Teatro alla Scala Chorus and Orchestra for all dates, with Ms. Pérez sharing the stage with Francesco Meli as Ernani, Simone Piazzola as Don Carlo, Ildar Abdrazakov as Don Ruy, Daria Chernyi as Giovanna, Matteo Desole as Don Riccardo, and Alessandro Spina as Jago.

Ailyn made her La Scala debut in 2010 as Amelia in Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra, and has since returned for her much-revered portrayals of Mimì in Puccini’s La bohème and Violetta Valéry in Verdi’s La traviata.
