This season Ailyn Pérez returns to the Metropolitan Opera in a signature role, Mimí in Puccini’s beloved La bohème, on November 13, 16, 20, and 24. Of her previous portrayal, Anthony Tommasini of the New York Times wrote, “Ms. Pérez, singing with melting sound and affecting vulnerability, made an endearing Mimì, a sensual young woman not afraid to let go when feelings of romantic longing welled up at the first sight of Rodolfo.”
Ms. Pérez is joined by a wonderful cast in the classic Franco Zeffirelli production, including Dmytro Popov as Rodolfo, Boris Pinkhasovich as Marcello, and Emily Pogorelc as Musetta, and Kensho Watanabe conducts. Listen to the live audio stream of the November 13 and November 20 performances on The Metropolitan Opera website.
