Ailyn Pérez kicks off the new year with her role debut as Antonia from Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann at the Opéra national de Paris. The production, directed by Robert Carsen, highlights the melancholy genius of a man marked by life. Carsen plays masterfully with this play within a play, and his spectacular mise en abyme takes us behind the scenes of opera.

Performances will take place on January 21, 25, 28, February 2, 5, 8, 11 & 14 at the Opéra Bastille. Sir Mark Elder conducts the Orchestra and Choir of the Opéra national de Paris. Ms. Pérez shares the stage with a star-studded cast, including Michael Fabiano as Hoffmann, Jodie Devos as Olympia, Véronique Gens as Giulietta, Gaëlle Arquez as Nicklausse, and Laurent Naouri as the Four Villains, among others.
