Ms. Pérez begins 2019 with two concerts in celebrated European capitals. The first is a New Year’s concert on January 10th in Istanbul with the Borusan Istanbul Filarmoni Orchestra. This gala evening is already sold-out as Ms. Pérez makes her highly anticipated debut in the city. The program includes pieces by Bernstiein, Puccini and Verdi, including one of her signature arias, “Sempre libera” from Verdi’s La traviata. To paraphrase from Violetta’s aria, Ms. Perez is sure to delight with “pleasure to pleasure,” in this concert conducted by Sascha Goetzel.

Ms. Pérez heads to Prague next to perform in concert with the Prague Philharmonia on January 15th. In Prague, she premieres several German pieces, including 3 Korngold arias, “Ich soll ihn niemals, niemals mehr sehn” from Die Kathrin, “Ich ging zu ihm” from Das Wunder der Heliane, “Marietta’s Song” from Die tote Stadt, and Strauss’s Vier letzter Lieder. The program, conducted by Emmanuel Villaume, also includes Beethoven’s 7th Symphony and Penderecki’s “Adagietto” from the opera Paradise Lost. Tickets are available here.
