Ailyn Pérez sings the role of Mimì in La Bohème at The Metropolitan Opera next season, January 6, 11 & 14, 2017. Ailyn has previously received tremendous critical acclaim for her portrayal of this iconic role:
“One could hardly wish for a finer ensemble of singing actors than these Bohemians, led by . . . the consumptive seamstress Mimi, a radiant Ailyn Pérez . . . Pérez displayed Mimi’s vulnerability, and the luster of her voice and depth of expression were assets from her first “Mi chiamano Mimi” (They call me Mimi). In the end, as she lay dying in an easy chair, her pure-toned recollection of their first meeting was heartbreaking.” (The Cincinnati Enquirer)
Ms. Pérez is joined by Michael Fabiano as Rodolfo, with Maestro Carlo Rizzi leading the acclaimed Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. This spring, Ailyn can also be seen in The Met’s ‘Bohème’ as Musetta, April 15, 21, 25, 29 & May 5.
