On January 30, Ailyn Pérez will receive the Alfonso Ortiz Tirado Medal in recognition of her outstanding international career at the 41st edition of the Festival Alfonso Ortiz Tirado (FAOT). The award will be presented during the festival, taking place January 23–31, 2026, in the historic town of Álamos, Sonora.

Pérez will also offer a recital performance as part of the festival, appearing alongside her longtime collaborator, Andrés Sarre. The performance and award celebrate both her artistic excellence and her deep cultural and familial ties to Mexico.

The Festival Alfonso Ortiz Tirado is one of Mexico’s most important multidisciplinary arts festivals, bringing together more than 700 local, national, and international artists each year. FAOT features a wide range of programming, including classical and popular music concerts, street performances, artisan markets, and regional food and drink. The majority of festival events are free and open to the public, making the arts accessible to audiences of all backgrounds.
