Ailyn Pérez is thrilled to return to the Teatro di San Carlo this month, for a semi-staged production of Verdi’s La Traviata by director Karel Mark Chichon. Ms. Pérez starred as Magda in La Rondine at San Carlo earlier this season, receiving praise for her “solid high register, which the soprano knows how to float to ravishing effect, as in “Chi il bel sogno” or in the finale” (Bachtrack).
Performances of La Traviata will take place on May 14, 16, & 18. Joining Ailyn on stage is a fantastic cast, including Mariangela Marini as Flora Bervoix, Michela Petrino as Annina, Ivan Magrì as Alfredo, George Gagnidze as Germont, and Lorenzo Izzo as Gastone, among others. Marina Bianchi conducts the Orchestra e Coro del Teatro di San Carlo.
