New production of Verdi’s ‘Falstaff’ at Bayerische Staatsoper

The Bayerische Staatsoper will premiere Mateja Koležnik’s new production of Verdi’s Falstaff live on December 2 at 7pm CET, free of charge on STAATSOPER.TV. Ms. Pérez returns to the Bayerische Staatsoper to star as Alice Ford, a role which she was previously praised by the New York Classical Review for her “easy, bell-like sound to her voice and the feeling that she was relishing the part.” Performances will take place on December 2, 5, & 12.

Mateja Koležnik’s staging of Verdi’s opera is inspired by Italian films by director Paolo Sorrentino. Ms. Pérez shares the stage with a fantastic roster of artists, including Wolfgang Koch as the seedy nobleman Sir John Falstaff, Boris Pinkhasovich as Ford, and Judit Kutasi as Mrs. Quickly.
