Ailyn Pérez returns to the Royal Opera House to star as Micaëla in Barrie Kosky’s musical-inspired production of Bizet’s Carmen. Bizet’s greatest opera tells the story of the enigmatic and seductive Carmen and the dangerous passions of Don José. The vibrant production features set design by Katrin Lea Tag. Julia Jones conducts the Orchestra and Chorus of the Royal Opera House. Performances take place June 22 & 24, July 5, 10, 13, 16 & 20.
Ms. Pérez will share the stage with Anaïk Morel as the title role (Aigul Akhmetshina on Jul 5), Bryan Hymel as Don José (Arsen Soghomonyan on Jul 16 & 20), Luca Pisaroni as Escamillo (Phillip Rhodes on Jul 16 & 20), Michael Mofidian as Zuniga, Jacquelyn Stucker as Frasquita, Hongni Wu as Mercédès, Dominic Sedgwick as Dancaïro, Stuart Patterson as Remendado, and Germán E. Alcántara as Moralès. Christopher Willis will conduct the performances on July 16 & 20.
