Ailyn Pérez’s determination has brought her success in the operatic arts. At IU, skilled professors in the Jacobs School of Music worked closely with Pérez and allowed her to work with graduate students in master classes to ensure her needs were met and she reached her full potential. Pérez is an operatic soprano and a graduate of the Jacobs School of Music.

She is the winner of the 2012 Richard Tucker Award, and the 2017 Sphinx Medal of Excellence. In her 2016–17 season, she performed at several distinguished venues, including The Met, the Staatsoper Berlin, and the Teatro all Scala.
