Soprano Ailyn Pérez, winner of the prestigious Richard Tucker Award in 2012 and the first Latina singer to be so honored, returns to New York on November 17th to perform at the 38th annual Richard Tucker Gala at Avery Fisher Hall. This year’s Gala celebrates the centennial of Richard Tucker’s birth in 1913, and will once again be broadcast nationwide on PBS’s award-winning series, Live from Lincoln Center. The performance will be shown on January 10 across the stluntry, but if you can’t wait until then, last year’s broadcast is still available for on-demand streaming at Live from Lincoln Center’s website.

Pérez will join a star-studded group of past winners performing at the gala, including sopranos Renée Fleming and Angela Meade, mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato, and tenor Matthew Polenzani. Maestro Riccardo Frizza leads this incredible lineup of all-American star vocalists, supported by members of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and the New York Choral Society. Tickets for this year’s Gala are on sale to the public on the Richard Tucker Music Foundation’s web site at http://richardtucker.org/gala/tickets/, as well as at www.lincolncenter.org, by calling CenterCharge (212) 721-6500, or at the Avery Fisher Hall box office.
