Following a special invitation by legendary tenor Placido Domingo, Ailyn Pérez will make her debut in the Kingdom of Bahrain next month in concert at the National Theater with Domingo and Russian soprano Julia Novikova. Eugene Kohn will lead the Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz for the performance. Pérez and Domingo have a long history together, but haven’t performed together since the tenor’s gala at Royal Opera House in 2011 when they sang the Act III duet from Rigoletto. The American soprano has been honored by Domingo twice in recent years, first winning second prize at the 2006 Operalia competition, and just last year she was named the recipient of the 15th annual Placido Domingo Award.
